Rockford IT’s data centre boasts the latest security and high speed communications including 24 hour manned security with CCTV, monitored intruder alarms and secure fob access, plus N+1 redundant monitored systems, diverse connectivity, as well as many other state of the art features, ensuring the highest possible standards in hosting facilities.
Rockford offers cabinet space by U rather than by cabinet. This means that a company may simply take out 1U (standard industry server size) if they have little equipment to be stored, rather than taking a cabinet or 1/2 cabinet that many competitors set as the minimum a company may purchase. Rockford has specified the cooling and power systems in the Hosting Facility to allow for the provision of a maximum 32A per cabinet. Many facilities will only accommodate 10A or 15A per cabinet resulting in half filled cabinets.

Its data centre features include:
BT & Virgin Media Fibre – Providing true supplier independent and geographically diverse connectivity routes. Rockford IT’s data centre connectivity arrives via both the north and south wings of the building taking different routes into seperate cabinets within the communications room.
2N Air Conditioing systems – Providing redundant environemtn control. In addition, it is coupled with APC’s environment monitoring suite to alert support teams in the unlikely event of a temperature or humidity change or hardware failure.
Backup Generator and APC UPS Redundant Power system – Should the grid power to the building fail, the UPS systems will ensure clean power delivery is maintained to the data centre until the generator takes over.
1st Floor Data Centre located away from flood plains – With its centralised location in Telford, it not only provides an ideal location just off the M54, but is also free from any flood risks.
HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol)- A Cisco proprietary protocol for establishing a fault-tolerant default gateway even in the unlikely event of a core router or switch failure.
16A Twin supplies per cab- Each monitored PDU, from separate supplies, powers one of the power supplies in twin power supply systems.
Secure Access- Rockford IT’s security access system provides entry only with an RFID ID card into the data centre. When they are not accessed, all racks and servers are locked.
FM200 Fire Suppression Systems- The combined fire detection and extinguishing system would automatically extinguish any fire in the data or comms rooms without damage
or interruption of the hosted systems.
24 Hour Manned Security- This high-tech security has CCTV and monitored intruder alarms.
24 Hour Technical Support- Unlike many competitors that simply offer technical support during working hours, Rockford IT has an onsite support team available from 0730-1930, and also provide a 24/7 support service should any problems occur outside of these hours. All key support and systems personnel are within 15 minutes of the data centre and network operations centre.
